Only if you buy that AI really is different. The logic in the first part of the article applies to AIs too, unless AIs can do everything.

But if it can't, then humans are fine. "Commoditize your complement", and all that.

Why would they need to do everything? Are you assuming that by the nature of even allowing 10% of labour not being replaced by AI, moving the other 90% of workers into that sector will create no issues with changing wages and wealth distribution ?

I would claim you are already wrong, and that de industrialisation in the West already moved a large number of workers onto a small number of sectors in the services, mostly to the detriment of the overall welfare of the population.
