The law of your new country is already taking care of that. There's a clear legal definition to "refugee" in Canada. You aren't one: you are an economic migrant.

You are more than welcome to apply for refugee status if you believe to be eligible under the legal defition of the term. I'm sure a lawyer will be happy to take your money and help you file for it.
But from the sound of it you were denied entry into the US because you failed a criminal/security background check. Maybe I wouldn't brag about it to the Canadian authorities...
