This is my experience with all MiniMax models: They're good on paper but fail to live up to expectations in practice. IMO, at no point has any MiniMax model been the superior choice over others, all things considered.
It's Goodhart's Law all over again for LLMs. I would rather trust my gut when trying a new model. Often I throw absurd prompts at it first before deciding if it's worth my time working around its antics.
