Believe me I'm aware of that. I always sort of felt that picking and choosing the parts of a religion in which you believe is almost worst, however.


The Hebrew term "Yom" translated "day" is mentioned before the sun and moon.

Also, there's an unspecified amount of time between Genesis 1:1, when "God created the heavens and the earth" and 1:2, which says "But the earth became waste and emptiness."

These two clues tell me the text is not meant to offer any information about dates and times.
