It's the same reason I had to take online maths/reasoning tests and then sit new ones supervised at assessment centres when applying for grad roles - they want to be sure you can do it and not your friend.

For me, I like the problems in an abstract sense not to actually use in an interview but to just improve my ability to see/solve the whole problem. So I'll sign up for fun.
